The Boyajian family originally from New York City established their first fine jewelry store in 1913 on maiden lane. Their first retail salon called Boyajian Brothers specialized in hand made custom jewelry. In 1963 Leo Boyajian moved from New York to Boca Raton where he and his wife Sunday established the 14K Shop in the Boca Raton Resort and Club. In 1968 Leo Boyajian traveled to Naples to open Landmark Gems on 5th Avenue South and in 1978 opened on Marco Island. The family decided to move to Naples full time where his son William Boyajian grew up.
William Boyajian is a third generation jeweler. At the age of 18, William graduated from Gemological Institute of America, a non-profit organization which is the foremost authority on diamonds, gemstones and pearls. He furthered his education at the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California. William’s return to his childhood home in Florida determined his future in the family business. He opened Port Royal Jewelers in 1992.
Twenty years later Port Royal Jewelers has been completely remodeled and is a boutique store which showcases the one of kind artisan jewelry pieces created by William B.
William’s art starts with paper and pencil sketches with his client. The next step is a wax model created from either Computer Aided Design or hand carving. A metal model is created and then the jeweler’s magic begins the process of final casting in either gold or platinum, setting the gemstones and polishing.
